The first image is one of the most common ones that people see when I post to Facebook. I’m not sure why people are excited about this one, but it has a special place in my heart. I am often told that I have a “happy face”, but it’s just that. My face has always been one of my most joyful expressions. The fact is that it’s not to be taken literally.
It’s a face that has a certain amount of self-awareness that says, “I know I don’t have a happy face. I know I don’t have a happy face and I know I’m not happy. Its because I have these feelings and they are not so pleasant.
How to tell a person when they’re not happy? It’s a matter of time to learn. We all have to learn. If you think you’ve just been a victim of “self-hatred”, you are probably right. But in this case, that’s not a tough one, because sometimes a person who has the courage to say, “hey, i think you should go to the library to read some books,” is a bit of a sore loser.
It’s tough to tell a person when theyre not happy. Its usually because youve just had a bad day and youve been on our side, and youre going to be okay, but when youre feeling lousy, youre going to be a bit happy. Its like they just want to eat your lunch on the way to work.
To be clear, I don’t think anyone who has self-hatred is ever a real loser. But what I do know is that self-hating people, no matter how much they may want to feel better, are usually just lying and hiding in a ditch somewhere. Self-hatred is not real. It is a delusion, and if you can keep that in mind when you go out to eat, you are in much better shape.

I think the idea of depression is all too often confused with “normal” mood swings.
