I’m not a big fan of WordPress, the software which powers WordPress.com. It’s a fine piece of software, but you quickly find yourself wanting a more customizable interface, and the siteground plugin is not always the most powerful or customizable.

wpengine is probably the most powerful plugin I have ever used, for the most part. It has a couple of the strongest plugins in all of WordPress. On the backend, it has the ability to add widgets and even a plugin to allow you to create custom headers that can be easily imported into your post or page, as well as a handy function that adds a custom post_excerpt meta box to any post or page.

One of the reasons I love the plugin is because it is extremely flexible. Instead of being limited on what can go into the widget, you can also use it to add a widget-like feature to your site. It’s a great way to really expand your site’s functionality without having to worry about having to use a whole lot of code.

Its also a great way to build a nice, little plugin. One of the best features is their “Custom-Built Widgets” section. You can add your own widget to your site and have it automatically work with your theme, or if you want to make something completely personal, you can add code to it.

Just like all the other widgets on widget life, widgets are HTML files that are served to your visitors. The code that the widget is built on, is also a page on your web server. So you can just as well have a widget that looks and works like your own site, or you can just as well have a widget that looks and works like a widget on widget life.
